The entire team at Channel 7’s Sunrise has crossed the Pacific ocean for the program’s biggest international outside broadcast to date in the United States of America!
The ‘USA Mystery Tour’, which kicked off this morning, will see the entire show broadcast live from Hawaii, California, Nevada, Texas and the Southern States with Sunrise viewers being given the power to influence which locations will host the main broadcasts by voting online.
With poll results tallied daily, the Sunrise team will not know where they are headed until the day prior – making this “Mystery Tour” a-world-first.
Flight Centre and Brand USA have partnered with Sunrise to see the show come to life and highlight the diversity of exciting experiences on offer across the United States.
Sunrise hosts, Kochie, Sam, Nat, Beretts, Eddy and Sam Mac kicked off the fun with an ‘Aloha!’ from beautiful Hawaii.
Viewers have been voting for one week on which exotic Hawaiian location they’d most like to see the Sunrise team in; Kona, Kualoa Ranch, or Waikiki.
All three polled locations will still be showcased on Sunrise throughout the day, with the second place hosting the weather segments, and the third place location hosting the entertainment segments.
Voting is open for the remainder of the destinations and viewers can cast their votes online at www.sunrisemysterytour.com.
The “USA Mystery Tour” locations are:
Monday 3 April: Hawaii, featuring Kona, Kualoa Ranch & Waikiki

Reporting live from Hawaii, Flight Centre’s Social Media Specialist, Millie Yervantian says:
We landed in Hawaii on Friday morning local time and checked into the incredible historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel. First thing was first, Kochie, Sam, Nat and Beretta hit the pool.
Sunset Mai Tais followed where the hosts met the four lucky viewers Cam (WA), Cinzia (VIC), Shelley (SA) and Max (NSW) and got to know each other as the sun went down with some Hawaiian tapas.
Then Hawaii Tourism hosted a traditional hawaiian dinner for the Sunrise team. It was an early night for everyone, but secretly I think everyone wanted to get into their pink fluffy robes.
Max and Cam, the winning viewers hiked up Diamond Head for sunrise, while Cinzia and Shelley checked out the historical hardrock cafe in Waikiki.
Then it was live on air all systems go. The cash cow got lei’d and hung out on Waikiki beach working on the tan on her white patches.
Kochie and Sam danced with some local Hawaiian dancers, met Miss Hawaii runner-up and Beretta learnt to make a Mai Tai.
Once the show was over, we headed to the Moana Surfrider for a beautiful lunch of Mahi Mahi tacos and poke nachos. One more quick swim in Waikiki Beach and then it was off to Honolulu airport to catch our flight to San Francisco with United.
The #Sun7USA Mystery Tour airs from Monday 3 April, LIVE from 5.30am all week on Seven and PLUS7 Live.
