As coronavirus continues to spread, Australians are being advised to reconsider all travel to China and to avoid any travel to China’s Hubei Province where the virus originated.
Smartraveller explained that Chinese authorities have restricted travel for parts of the country and may extend these restrictions at short notice.
The virus has already killed more than 100 people. Although the flu-like virus is spreading throughout the world, none of the 106 deaths have occurred outside China.
There are five confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia, four in NSW and one in Victoria.
In many areas of China, authorities are testing body temperature before allowing access to public places. Travellers may be quarantined, due to their health condition or previous location.

Those in China should follow the advice of local authorities.
Those who have travelled to the Hubei Province and have developed symptoms of respiratory illness should seek medical help immediately.
Wendy Wu has advised Karryon that they are currently in contact with their customers and Agents who have clients travelling in February to rearrange travel plans and discuss options available to them.
They are also monitoring the situation very closely for departures post-February and taking into account travel advisories and updates on the situation.

The World Health Organisation has still not declared Coronovirus an international health emergency.
