Easyjet makes it into Conde Nast top 10. Yes, really.

British Airways has been named the top short haul and long haul airline by Conde Nast Traveller’s readers in its annual Travel Awards.

British Airways has been named the top short haul and long haul airline by Conde Nast Traveller’s readers in its annual Travel Awards.

The airline beat many favourites for the top spot on the poll, with Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Etihad rounding up the top 5 in the long-haul category.

Meanwhile, in the short-haul list, Ryanair failed to hit the mark and didn’t even land in the top 10. Lufthansa Swiss International Air Lines and Aer Lingus finished off the best short-haul top five and European budget carrier Easyjet even made it securing 10th place, according to the Daily Mail.

One57 New York City SkylineNew York beat Paris as the top overseas destination, and Italy was voted as the readers’ favourite country to visit (KarryOn agrees), while the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok took out top spot as the best hotel in the world.

London was voted as the UK’s best city for the fourth year in a row, followed by Edinburgh, Bath, York and Brighton. Meanwhile when it comes to the most welcoming city in the UK, readers picked Glasgow – perhaps due to the success of hosting the Commonwealth Games earlier in the year.
