Alliance Airlines via Virgin Australia is making it even easier for you and your clients to visit the stunning Kimberley region.
The ‘Kimberley Express’ will be operating three flights a week between May and August 2020; aligning perfectly with the dry, or ‘peak’, season, which runs from April to October, with generally warm and comfortable temperatures.
The flights will be departing Melbourne on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and departing Kununurra on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The launch of the direct Melbourne – Kununurra flight will open up access for both domestic and international visitors to this iconic destination.
What’s better, is the flight time is less than five hours, so you can enjoy a glass of wine, get back into that book you’ve been meaning to finish for three years or simply enjoy a little quiet time before the big adventure.

Jetstar will operate the first-ever commercial airline service between Melbourne and Busselton-Margaret River airport from March 25, 2020.
The three-per-week service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, leaving Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 8.00 am AEST and arriving at Busselton-Margaret River Airport at 9.05 am WST, before returning to Melbourne at 9.40 am WST.
Located just a 40-minute drive away from Margaret River township to the south and a 40-minute drive to Bunbury to the north, BQB is the perfect gateway to the region, comprising the towns of Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Augusta, and Margaret River.

The Margaret River Region, recently named as Lonely Planet’s Number 1 Asia Pacific destination to visit in 2020, is one of WA’s nine wine regions. It is internationally recognised as a premium producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. It also produces a signature style of wine with a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
The Margaret River Region is home to more than 215 wine producers, 150 cellar doors and produces around 20 per cent of Australia’s premium wine (3.5% of Australia’s wine).
That’s a lot of wine to try!
Alongside the wineries, there are many fine restaurants, boutique breweries, art galleries and an abundance of fresh produce. You’ll find berries, stone fruit, apples, venison, beef, poultry, seafood, cheeses, venison, marron and chocolate.
After enjoying all the delicious treats, take a scenic drive through the tall-tree forests of the Boranup Karri Forest (famous for its beautiful spring wildflowers), or put your adventure hat on and experience whale watching, fishing, rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking or canoeing.
You may not know it yet, but the Margaret River Region is as spectacular below the ground as it above. Over 100 limestone caves lay beneath the surface waiting to be explored; including Ngilgi, Jewel and Lake Cave.
