Qatar has unveiled the first phase of what will eventually be an entire area dedicated to the video game franchise and its multi-coloured, defensive birds.

The soft opening of ANGRY BIRDS WORLD happened this week during Qatar’s Doha Festival City, giving visitors a first look at the 17,000-square metre attraction, InPark Magazine reported.

Early visitors had the chance to try some of the 20 high-thrill rides inspired by the game, including the Blast Bomb – a drop and twist tower with free-fall motion from 11m high. There’s also the Red Alert ride where guests spin 360-degree.

Another highlight of the park is the 17m high Big Tree where adults and children learn the basics of science and improve their muscle ability. Plus, there’s the Own the Sky roller glider with a 106m zip line.

People behind the concept of the park expect the second and final phase of the park to be unveiled in the coming months, which will include an outdoor section along with additional food and beverage outlets, retail shops and more.
