Skiers and boarders can prepare to hit the slopes in style this post-COVID-19 winter as the Australian ski season is set to start on 22 June.

Thredbo has announced that it will be reopening from 22 June and welcoming back visitors with a 50% daily capacity reduction, to allow for strict sanitation and social distancing measures.
Whether you tear up or fall down the slopes, a trip to the snow is always a fun-filled holiday, that is now on the 2020 domestic travel to-do list.
Not sure about you, but 50% fewer people on the trails certainly sounds like a positive, too – less people to try and have to dodge, right?
Shredding in Thredbo
Non-essential travel will be allowed in NSW from Monday 1 June, meaning CUE THE SKI SEASON, YEEEW!
But what is it going to look like in Thredbo?
A social distancing 1.5 metre “ski tip to tail” rule will apply in queues for the lifts and there will be a limit of two people per chairlift and one per T-bar.
If you need a refresh, you can opt for a private lesson, as group lessons are a no go for now. Resort restaurants and bars will operate in alignment with government restrictions.
Turning no plans into snow plans
Thredbo isn’t the only option when it comes to your snow plans.
Perisher, Hotham and Falls Creek will open for skiing and snowboarding on 24 June.
Charlotte Pass Snow Resort has said accommodation will be open from June 25 and mountain operations are expected to begin on June 26.
Ski fields across Victoria will also be kickstarting the winter season on June 22, 2020.
Travellers are strongly recommended pre-plan their trips, as rooms and ski passes will be limited.
