Vaccinated overseas tourists can now freely enter Hong Kong with immediate access to restaurants and attractions and are not required to undergo PCR tests on arrival. Hong Kong wound back its final entry restrictions on 29 December to tempt tourists back.

The Hong Kong government said it had finally relaxed the entry requirements for travellers to boost tourism.

The latest news comes just days after Hong Kong introduced new measures on 14 December that required inbound travellers to produce a valid Vaccine Pass to enter restaurants, bars and attractions.

The latest rules

International visitors are still required to have a recognised vaccination record and must return a negative RAT within 24 hours or a PCR test within 48 hours of flight departure.

Travellers are also advised to keep photographic proof of their test results or reports for up to 90 days for inspection by government personnel.

International passengers who are transiting or transferring via Hong Kong do not need to follow these measures.

Overseas visitors are advised to conduct a daily RAT between the day of arrival (day 0) and day 5 of the visit however, this is no longer mandatory.

Travellers are now free to enter restaurants, attractions, performance venues and more on arrival in Hong Kong.

Social distancing rules have also been scrapped however, masks are still required to be worn on public transport and in public spaces.
