From 14 December, fully vaccinated visitors will no longer be barred from restaurants and pubs and can explore Hong Kong with a valid Vaccine Pass, which includes dining at restaurants, visiting attractions and more.
Hong Kong authorities dropped the three-day exclusion from bars and restaurants for inbound travellers after entry after removing the mandatory hotel quarantine requirement in late September.
The scrapping of COVID curbs sees the city-state wind back of some of the world’s most prolonged and stringent restrictions as China also rapidly unwinds its zero-COVID policy.
The introduction of a Provisional Vaccine Pass is available to fully vaccinated visitors. Travellers must do a PCR test at Hong Kong International airport on arrival and return a negative result for entry.

Pre-departure checklist
Travellers will need to show proof of a negative RAT result within 24 hours of their scheduled flight departure time.
You’ll also need a recognised vaccination record and declare both the RAT result and your vax records via the Health & Quarantine Declaration Form.
When completed, you’ll need to generate the health declaration QR code (green) to show to airline staff at check-in.
At Hong Kong International Airport
On arrival at the airport, fully vaccinated travellers must return a negative PCR result (after testing at the airport). Visitors are then free to explore the city with a valid Vaccine Pass.
To enter restaurants and attractions, inbound travellers will need to show their Provisional Vaccine Pass or Vaccination Record QR code. The Pass is valid for 180 days (i.e. six months from the date of arrival in Hong Kong).
Travellers who are not fully vaccinated will not be issued with the Vaccine Pass unless exempt.
