Morocco set to reopen to international tourists on A and B lists from 7 February

The Moroccan government has announced that Morocco will be reopening to international tourism on 7 February 2022, using a traffic light system with different rules for different countries.

The Moroccan government has announced that Morocco will be reopening to international tourism on 7 February 2022, using a traffic light system with different rules for different countries.

Morocco, which last closed its borders on 29 November 2021, has announced it will begin its second #ArrivalRevival on February 7, using a traffic light-style system.

On the government website, it states, ‘After the resumption of flights, travellers will have access to the Moroccan territor under certain conditions. To implement this procedure, a classification of countries into 3 lists (A, B and C) has been adopted following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.’

The country’s A-list welcomes back travellers from 83 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, USA, Italy, Singapore, Sweden and Indonesia.

According to the government website, travellers from List A countries must present a certificate attesting that the person is fully vaccinated.

They must also present, before boarding, a completed health form in which the passenger address is mentioned along with two contact numbers to locate the passenger.

Upon arrival in Morocco, travellers on list A must undergo a systematic temperature check and another random check by rapid antigenic test.

Children under the age of 12 are exempt from any entry requirements. Children between 6 and 11 years of age must present a negative PCR.

B-list countries include all ‘moderate risk’ countries, such as UK, France, Qatar and Thailand.

Travellers from list B must present a certificate attesting that the person is fully vaccinated and a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old.

They must also present, before boarding, a completed health card in which the passenger address is mentioned with two contact numbers allowing his location.

The C-list lists all high-risk countries whose travellers are not allowed to enter Morocco directly or by transit. This list includes countries such as Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

If an A or B-list arrival tests positive on their rapid antigen test, they will be required to isolate for 10 days. Any other passenger testing positive on arrival will not be allowed to enter the national territory.
