ROOF OF THE WORLD: Trafalgar launches trips to Nepal

Trafalgar is hoping to get a slice of the 100,000 Aussies predicted to visit Nepal in the next two years with its first itineraries in the South Asian country.

Trafalgar is hoping to get a slice of the 100,000 Aussies predicted to visit Nepal in the next two years with its first itineraries in the South Asian country.

Unveiled this month as part of the tour operator’s 2019/20 Asia brochure are its first four trips to the ‘Land of Thunder and Dragon’.

Ranging from four- to- 17-day itineraries, the four Nepalese trips cover the country’s spirituality, cultural distinctions and natural heritage.

The shortest of the trips is the four-day Nepal Adventure Summer 2019, which includes a city tour of Kathmandu, a visit to UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Durbar Square and Swayambhunath.

The 11-day India’s Golden Triangle with Varanasi and Nepal Summer sees explorations through Nepal added to a cross-country itinerary with India, and includes visits to Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Varanasi and Kathmandu.

Finally, there are the two 17-day itineraries – Treasures of India with Nepal Summer and Treasures of India with Nepal – Celebrate Diwali Summer -, which also cross into India and feature visits to old royal palaces, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and religious temples.

The next two years are expected to be huge for Nepal’s tourism industry as the country’s tourism board aims to rebuild visitor numbers to pre-2015 quake figures.
