Set-jetting fans of the hugely popular sci-fi workplace thriller Severance – the most-watched series ever on Apple TV+ – can enjoy an innie or outie experience in real-life filming locations in New York State.
With season two now streaming on Apple TV+ and a viral pop-up cast activation taking over NYC’s Grand Central Terminal in January, the scene is set for Severance set-jetting in 2025.
Experience the mysterious world of Lumon Industries firsthand in New York State, from quaint Hudson Valley towns to dramatic Catskills scenery.
These real-life filming locations will immerse fans in the eerie yet fascinating world of Severance and charm visitors with the area’s architecture, culture, history and nature.
In the Hudson Valley, Duchess and Rockland counties double as several Severance season one filming locations.

The city of Beacon inspired the town of Kier, the hometown of Lumon Industries, while Nyack, a key filming location, provides the backdrop for the neighbourhood of the main character, Mark Scout (Adam Scott), in the show. The Village Gate townhouses, as Mark’s home, are in this village along the Hudson River. The Dia Beacon art museum also features in season one.

Ulster Country, comprising Hudson Valley and Catskills, is another set-jetting destination for pivotal Severance scenes. Kingston is home to Rondout Creek and the Red Owl Collective in the Midtown District, both of which appeared in the show.

New Paltz served as the serene location for the birthing retreat of Mark’s sister Devon (Jen Tullock) on the show. On the Catskills side of Ulster County, fans will recognise Phoenicia Diner, a stand-in for Pip’s Bar and Grille in the show.

Westchester County is home to several memorable Severance filming spots, including the city of Yonkers and the Hudson River Museum, which served as the Perpetuity Wing where the Macrodata Refinement (MDR) department where Mark works takes a field trip.

In Thornwood, fans can experience The Bier House, the stunning Mid-Century Modern home featured as Devon’s residence in the show, while White Plains’ Trinity Lutheran Church is the setting for Peter “Petey” Kilmer’s (Yul Vasquez) funeral in season one.
