Whether its the sultry Spanish spin, the fiery French or exotic Italian – there’s something about a foreign accent that makes a person that much more attractive.
And while we all have our own opinion of which is sexiest, a new study has been conducted to find which accents gets most people going. Let us know if you agree or if your Valentine’s Day date has one of these accents.
According to Time Out’s Global Dating Survey, the British accent is the most attractive, with 26.7 percent of people from 24 cities around the world saying it is the most attractive.

That explains Benedict Cumberbatch’s sudden rise to sexiness (although his talent and curly locks work too).
Next in line is the American accent followed by the Irish (hello Liam Neeson and Colin O’Donoghue – Hook from ‘Once Upon a Time’).
Apparently, Aussies have the fourth most attractive accent on the planet (I’m going to thank Chris Hemsworth for that one).
I’d say this man (Chris Hemsworth) is the reason behind the Aussie accent’s rise to sexiness.
Meanwhile, French the ‘language of love’ has lost a bit of its appeal and is now the fifth sexiest accent – chosen by only 7.7 percent of respondents.
But the sexiness isn’t completely gone, Paris was still the number one city for dating followed by Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Chicago.
In the singles world, Sydney has the happiest single people, with 31 percent claiming to be ‘proudly single’. New York has the most depressed singles with 45 percent declaring themselves ‘sad to be single’.
Meanwhile a study conducted by Southern Cross Travel Insurance in New Zealand this week also found that it’s not just the young getting raunchy while on holidays, with one in ten travellers aged 50 and over finding romance while away.
Eleven percent of those said their holiday lovin’ was with a local, which means those sexy foreign accent really are working.
