Aussie Actor, Rebel Wilson, has been on the gram flaunting her new island look; golden shipwreck glam, during a work trip to Fiji as the fresh new face of paradise.

Rebel Wilson has been making us all super jealous on Instagram, by posting dreamy images of tropical photoshoots while she and her team highlight the beauty and tourism experiences of Fiji in a Tourism Fiji campaign soon to be launched to major markets including Australia, US and the UK.

Some of these shoots included being fanned by a nice-looking man called Sammy, slow-mo catwalking down a deserted beach and onboard a cute wooden boat called ‘Cali Dreamer’, dressed in a rather dashing golden dress.

Talk about living the dream.

Rebel was hosted at the stunning Vomo Resort, on an exciting production largely handled by a range of local Fijian companies and international production firms.

Over the course of the week, Rebel enjoyed a range of experiences that tourists coming to Fiji can look forward to – from snorkelling on amazing reefs, to SUPping across clear blue water, chopper flights over the Islands, hikes and treks, and enjoying the amazing warm hospitality that Fiji is famous for.

Rebel’s partnership with Tourism Fiji as their new ambassador comes just a fortnight before Fiji reopens its borders to Australians from 1st December.

Wilson has walked down a similar, palm-tree studded, path to Chris Hemsworth, who partnered with Tourism Australia back in 2016, making him around $1.25million over a two-year period.

Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill says the tourism board is really excited to be partnering with Rebel Wilson, as she resonates really well with both Australia and the U.S.

“Happiness is coming soon!” Hill said.

“The campaign is called ‘Open for Happiness’, and reflects exactly what Fiji does like nowhere else in the world – welcome our guests with a genuine warmth and Bula spirit that will leave you in love with Fiji and its people.”

Rebel will continue to work with Tourism Fiji into 2022 to share the campaign and her experiences in Fiji.

“We look forward to shortly sharing the full campaign and showing what Rebel got up to during her time here in Fiji!” Hill concluded.

Fiji demand is already booming, with 66% of all international outbound flights from Australia in October being booked directly to the island nation and accounting for 29% of all flights being made, second only to domestic travel.

Many resorts are booking out, and according to one of Australia’s largest online travel agencies, 39% of all bookings made to Fiji have been made for the month of December and 29% of all bookings made to Fiji have been made for January, with 2022 quickly filling as well, which is a real boost for the tourism industry after two years of virtually no tourism.

Hurry up, 1 December. We can’t wait to join Rebel in Fiji!
