Singapore reached record tourism receipts and arrivals in 2025 with Australia emerging as its fourth-largest source market and one of the top contributors to visitor spend.

Singapore smashed tourism records in 2025, posting its highest-ever visitor spend from Australia and reinforcing the destination’s strong appeal among Australian travellers.

Aussies ranked among the Lion City’s top visitors with 1.3 million arrivals between January and September, up eight per cent year on year and lifting Australia from fifth to fourth place as a source market.

Australia also ranked among the destination’s top three markets for visitor spend in 2025, recording a seven per cent increase compared to the previous year.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Chief Executive Melissa Ow said the strong performance strategically positions the city-state for steady growth and exceed 2025 projections by SGD$1.5 billion.

“We are attracting visitors who value the distinctive experiences that Singapore offers. To maintain this growth momentum and reinforce our destination appeal and global hub status, we will continue to develop a strong pipeline of differentiated products, events and experiences,” she said.

What’s driving visitor arrivals and spend?

STB attributes the uptick in visitor spend to investment in new attractions, accommodation and experiences, including cruising and major events, such as the F1 Grand Prix and Lady Gaga’s global tour.

Singapore welcomed 375 cruise calls (+10%) and more than two million passengers (+9%) in 2025, cementing its position as a leading cruise hub in the region with three new homeported ships and the completion of the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore expansion.

Looking ahead, new experiences set to launch in 2026 include the return of Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA, Disney Cruise Line’s first Asia homeport and phase two of Rainforest Wild at Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

STB forecasts international visitor arrivals of between 17 and 18 million in 2026, generating an estimated SGD$31 to $32.5 billion in tourism receipts.
