Cute by day, scary by night. That’s the new concept coming into play for Halloween at Tokyo’s Hello Kitty Land until the end of October.
The spooky happenings will begin at the theme park this Friday with the creative support of well-known Japanese horror event producer Obaken.
Thrill-seeking visitors are invited to join a chilling Hello Kitty boat ride in the dark without anywhere to escape to. A ride so frightening that under 10s aren’t allowed to join.
Following the regular Hello Kitty afternoon parade, ghosts will run to the Ghost Pierrot’s Sneaking Horror House where they will lurk for around while visitors try their best to escape.
A Halloween Rock Parade will be led by Sanrio characters with their own bands battling with the Ghost Pierrot. Of course, guests are encouraged to join in.
A range of horror-themed items will be for sale including fake tattoo stickers and a special Halloween-modified food menu. Spooketti anyone?
Themed character costumes will also be on hand, giving visitors the chance to dress up for Halloween pictures with their favourite characters.
The event promises the perfect mix of both cute and creepy. Goosebumps guaranteed.
