‘Cultural’ and ‘quirky’ Tasmania has made it on to the world’s Top 10 Regions for next year in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2015.

The world’s leading travel media company, Lonely Planet has revealed its Best in Travel 2015 which is the 10th annual agenda-setting collection of the best trends, destinations, journeys and experiences for the year ahead with Tasmania ranking forth on the list.

Given the islands magnificent nature, culture and history there is no surprise Tasmania managed to score high on the popular list. Some of the popular sites include the luxury Saffire Freycinet hotel, MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), bushwalking trails around Mt Wellington and the historic site, Port Arthur which have all been promoted to both international visitors as well as Australians.

Discover Tasmania has done a remarkable job online across multiple social media channels with over 64,000 followers on Instagram and almost 50,000 fans on Facebook promoting the highlights of the region. This year Discover Tasmania rolled out the campaign ‘Go Behind the Scenery’ featuring several videos showcasing different regions.
