True connection: Tourism New Zealand's Regional Showcase wraps in Sydney

Tourism New Zealand's annual two-day Regional Showcase for the trade industry in Sydney has wrapped in Sydney. This year's event, held from 21-22 February, saw 23 of New Zealand's Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) connect with Australian Product and Marketing Managers from leading travel companies to gain market insights and share destination and product knowledge.

Tourism New Zealand’s annual two-day Regional Showcase for the trade industry in Sydney has wrapped in Sydney. This year’s event, held from 21-22 February, saw 23 of New Zealand’s Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) connect with Australian Product and Marketing Managers from leading travel companies to gain market insights and share destination and product knowledge.

Day one of the Regional Showcase held at the Intercontinental Hotel focused on setting the scene to give the New Zealand industry a deeper understanding of the Australian market. Nichola Quail, founder and CEO of Insights Exchange, hosted a series of informative panel sessions, sharing their latest findings on consumer trends.

This was followed by an aviation panel with industry insiders from Christchurch Airport, Air New Zealand, Qantas and Three Consulting, and a conversation on the importance of ‘Responsible Tourism’ with Intrepid Travel.

On the second day, the New Zealand industry had the opportunity to connect with Australian travel product and marketing managers in pre-scheduled meetings to expand on network relationships and share destination product knowledge.
