The sights, sounds & most importantly, the tastes of Singapore arrived in Australia last week as The Lion City launched its latest campaign targeting the ‘Socialiser Tribe’ aka millennials.

Singapore Tourism Board’s Singapore Social events took over popular bars in Sydney and Melbourne for two nights, during which time patrons were transported into Singapore’s buzzing nightlife.

In addition to giving The Rooftop Sydney and The Albion Rooftop in South Melbourne a Southeast Asia-inspired look, the tourism board flew actual sounds and tastes from Singapore to complete the experience.

For example, tastebuds swam in authentic Singaporean dishes provided by MasterChef Australia 2018 winner, Sashi Cheliah aka the ‘King of Flavour’. Dishes included Chilli crab sliders, Crispy-skin pork and Chicken Rendang.

Guests were able to wash down à la carte small plates with cocktails created by owners of two Singaporean bars – Operation Dagger and NATIVE -, which just happen to be listed in the ‘World’s 50 Best Bars List’.

To deliver the sounds of the city, tourism leaders flew the city’s legendary turntablist, DJ and hip-hop pioneer DJ
KoFlow to perform each night, along with Pop-sensation and R&B singer Tabitha Nauser who played tracks from her upcoming EP.

The tourism board’s John Conceicao said the aim of the four-night event was to show “people who travel to party” that The Lion City is a great place to do just that.
