“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” The #Instaworthy quote echoes why so many of us love to travel.
The opportunity to escape from the typical routine, explore somewhere new or just relax and kickback make travelling a fulfilling experience, for just about anyone.
While we all don’t share the same bucket list, a new survey suggests there are a few destinations that can make just about anyone happy.
And it seems that Aussies can’t get enough beach days!
A review of more than 1,300 Instagram images found that the tropical paradise of Hawaii was the most popular destination featured when Jetstar fans were asked to share a photo of what made them feel happiest on holiday.
The Aloha State was followed by the Sunshine State, Queensland, and the holiday hotspot of Bali to round out the top three happiest places. Destinations across Europe and the USA were also popular with happiness-seeking travelers.
The survey also revealed a preference toward stunning natural beauty. Beach scenes and coastlines were included in more than a third of all of the images shared, with other natural wonders such as rainforests, sunsets and waterfalls also staring front and centre of Australians’ happiest travel moments.
“It’s fantastic to see the collation of our passengers’ happy travel moments, from ‘wing’ shots out of our aircraft windows, to the joy of discovering the many places Jetstar flies to in Australia and overseas,”
David Hall, CEO, Jetstar Australia and New Zealand
All of the 1,300 images curated by travel-happy Aussies have since been pulled together into a unique video by French artist and musician, Hierophante.
