The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) and Australia India Travel & Tourism Council (AITTC) have inked a memorandum of understanding which they believe will strengthen ties between Australia and India.
AIBC is a national membership organisation with chapters in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra, sharing close relationships with government agencies, the diplomatic corps and industry bodies.
AITTC, on the other hand, represents the passion and enthusiasm of organisations and individuals from across the travel and tourism industry in Australia and India, keen to enhance bilateral tourist traffic movement between the two nations.
It is the only body driving bi-lateral travel and tourism relations between Australia and India.
Its membership represents a wide spectrum of the industry from airlines, hotels, tour operators, Travel Agents, tourism bodies to travel media professionals.
While retaining their own identity and goals, the MOU will see the two councils working together to promote travel and tourism in both countries.
Under the new MOU, ‘Travel & Tourism’ enquiries and opportunities will be directed to AITTC.
National Chair AIBC Sheba Nandkeolyar and Chairman AITTC Sandip Hor both see the MOU as a giant step forward to bring the two organisations closer to add more value to the bilateral relationship.
“With the proposed launch of the India Economic strategy, the Australia-India relationship is poised to take a leap. I believe travel and tourism will be a major facet of this bilateral relationship, hence this MOU comes at an opportune time.”

Echoing her sentiments, Sandip Hor added “It is indeed an opportune time for this MoU and partnership with AIBC to offer a complete platform for all bilateral business opportunities.”
