Do you have a hard-working colleague who deserves some recognition? Or do you think it’s about time your favourite cruise line and airline get a little love?

Now’s the time to submit their name to be in the running to win the ultimate travel industry recognition, an NTIA Award.

Nominations for the 2016 AFTA National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) opened this week, allowing agents, suppliers and other industry representatives to put forth their favourite people in the biz.

This year, there are 38 categories including Best Travel Agency Retail; Best Travel Agency Corporate; Best Online Travel Agency; Best Travel Consultant; and Best Travel Agency Manager.

There’s also the newest category – People’s Choice: Retail Travel Agency of the Year – which will be voted for by the public through Australian Traveller Media.

In 2016, there’ll once again be another Young Agent of the Year – recognising industry newcomers – as well as several awards for the Best Tour Operator; Best Cruise Operator; and Best Agent Technology Innovation.

Nominations are split into three different forms – one form for the travel agent to nominate a supplier and another for a supplier to nominate a travel agent in the various categories. The third form is for the Emirates Travel Consultant Scholarship, which is a self nomination application.

Forms can be filled out online, with each nomination being verified before nominators can proceed to the next stage of voting.
