Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) has partnered with Australian-owned wholesaler International Rail to provide business development and marketing support in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The collaboration is aimed at increasing International Rail’s brand awareness and trade engagement across the two markets through ETC’s B2B representation services.
Under the new partnership, Evolution Travel Collective will deliver business development manager (BDM) representation for International Rail, offering Australian and New Zealand agents increased access to sales support and local expertise.
International Rail is a Melbourne-based, Australian-owned wholesaler that provides agents with access to global train travel products and services. With more than two decades in the business, the company specialises in international rail passes, point-to-point tickets and booking solutions designed to streamline what can often be a complex selling process.
Jonathan Hume, CEO of International Rail, said the partnership with ETC was designed to expand the company’s footprint and visibility in the region.
“We are delighted to work with Evolution Travel Collective to expand our reach in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
“ETC’s deep knowledge of the local market and their exceptional track record in the travel industry make them the ideal partner for us.
“With their support, we are confident that our 20-year-old business will gain even greater awareness of how we are offering agents exceptional locally based customer service.”
A shared focus on rail representation
ETC Managing Director Ingrid Berthelsen said the partnership would build on her team’s rail expertise and further support trade growth.
“We’re excited to bring our expertise in BDM representation to such a well-established brand as International Rail,” Berthelsen said.
“Having worked in rail wholesale for over 12 years, I understand the immense value of providing agents with a one-stop shop to booking rail services and the incredible potential this partnership holds.
“We’re looking forward to helping International Rail build a strong and lasting presence in both Australia and New Zealand.”
The agreement is now in effect, with ETC BDMs available to assist agents looking to learn more about International Rail’s offerings or require sales support.
The partnership with ETC draws on the representation group’s B2B experience across the Asia-Pacific region, including work with tourism boards, tour operators and wholesalers. By applying that know-how to rail, ETC will support International Rail in navigating the growing need for localised trade engagement and simplifying a niche but high-potential category for Australian and New Zealand agents.
KARRYON UNPACKS: This latest move signals easier access to product support and BDM-level engagement, particularly in the complex and highly technical world of international rail bookings.
