Expedia shows agents more loyalty

Expedia has launched a new loyalty program for travel agents in Australia and New Zealand.

Expedia has launched a new loyalty program for travel agents in Australia and New Zealand.

‘Expedia + program’  invites travel agents using Expedia TAAP to register for the rewards program and earn Expedia+ points for a variety of travel bookings.

The more Expedia+ members book, the more they can redeem points towards future hotel and package bookings.

TAAP Manager in Australia and New Zealand, Stuart Udy said agents earn two points for every dollar spent on hotels, packages and activities.

“Points accumulate quickly and can be redeemed by the agent themselves or offered as a future discount to customers for their next visit.”

He said the new program offers ‘valuable return’ for agents and is highly competitive compared to other programs in the market.

Expedia TAAP now has more than almost 50,000 Travel Agency members worldwide, with 3,000 registered agents in Australia and New Zealand.

Expedia is giving agents more rewards through a new loyalty program.

Expedia TAAP offers Travel agents commission on bookings through one of the 400 airlines or nearly 435,000 hotels worldwide.

Over the last six months, Expedia has drastically expanded its business by purchasing a number of other online companies.

Late last year, Expedia completed a $703 million purchase of online flight accommodation seller, Wotif.com.

For the moment, both companies are operating business as usual. However, Expedia is working closely with the Wotif Group team to evaluate the long-term strategy.

And earlier this year, the company paid $2 billion to acquire Orbitz, adding Orbitz, com; CheapTickets; eBookers; HotelClub; and RatestoGo to its portfolio.
