FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES: Cebu Pacific celebrates milestones

Cebu Pacific are celebrating two Australian milestones this year - the first anniversary of Melbourne-Manila service & the 5th anniversary of the Sydney-Manila service with a series of Agent events this week.

Cebu Pacific are celebrating two Australian milestones this year – the first anniversary of Melbourne-Manila service & the 5th anniversary of the Sydney-Manila service with a series of Agent events this week.

Cebu Pacific Air’s Vice President of Marketing and Distribution, Candice Iyog, spoke to guests, reaffirming the carrier’s commitment to the Australian market as it represents the 6th biggest source market into the Philippines with a 23% increase in CEB passengers between Australia and the Philippines during FY18.

The Sydney route runs 5 times weekly with Iyog hinting that with increased interest from Australia this could move to a daily service.

Cebu also celebrated their growing network with 5 new destinations added already in 2019 to now reach a total of 60 destinations; 37 within the Philippines and 27 internationally.

For Australians flying into Manila there are 26 destinations available across the Philippines, all from the same terminal making inter-island connectivity convenient with Iyog stating they’re committed to offering Australians “more connections and more options”.

Iyog continued telling guests that in terms of product Cebu Pacific are “all about fun”, something that is important as Philippines’s national carrier.

“We believe that the Philippines is the perfect destination for Aussies because we know just like us Filipinos Australians love fun. Love the beaches, love the sun, love the islands and we have over 7,100 islands to choose from. Part of being fun is also making it easy to access these destinations.”

Cebu Pacific are encouraging Australians to think of the Philippines as “the next Bali” and they have the awards to back them up. On Conde Nast’s recent World’s Best Islands list, 4 out of the top 10 islands were located in the Philippines. The islands; Cebu, Boracay, Siargao and Palawan are all accessible on Cebu’s network with Iyog concluding “it really is more fun in the Philippines!”
