Travellers can now earn Qantas Points when booking a Globus family of brands (GFOB) holiday, after the company announced a partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer, to offer new and exciting travel rewards.

From today, travel advisors will be able to ensure their clients earn Qantas Points on all GFOB holidays, with GFOB customers who are also Qantas Frequent Flyers able to earn 1 Qantas Point per dollar on Globus and Cosmos coach tours and 2 Qantas Points per dollar on Avalon Waterways river cruises.

To celebrate the launch of the partnership, GFOB and Qantas Frequent Flyer are offering double Qantas Points on all eligible GFOB bookings made by 25 May, giving advisors yet another reason to encourage their clients to book their 2022 and 2023 trips now.

“Globus family of brands is thrilled to be partnering with Qantas Frequent Flyer, an iconic Aussie household name, to open up a world of opportunity for our travel partners, giving them the chance to help their clients earn Qantas Points on their next holiday with us,” said Gai Tyrrell, managing director Australasia of Globus family of brands.

“There’s a lot of excitement around booking 2022 and 2023 trips and while customers can earn Qantas Points with us any time, our double Qantas Points offer will see a lot of people lock in their travel plans in the weeks ahead. Earning Qantas Points is easy for GFOB customers and advisors alike, with advisors easily able to allocate points when making bookings. Customers can also add their frequent flyer details to their GFOB MyAccount portal prior to departure.

Additionally, GFOB customers who aren’t yet Qantas Frequent Flyer members will be able to sign up for the loyalty program for free, waiving the $99.50 fee.

Qantas Points will be allocated based on the full price of the tours or cruises, even if they’ve been discounted, and can be redeemed for a range of rewards including flights, flight upgrades, and products from the Qantas Rewards Store and more.

Olivia Wirth, CEO of Qantas Loyalty said the ability to earn points on tours and river cruising with the Globus family of brands would be welcomed by members and advisors alike.

“Travel is an incredibly personal experience and we know our members are looking for different holiday experiences, so the option to earn points on escorted touring experiences will be an exciting alternative for frequent flyers.

“It comes as we shift our focus to the recovery of the tourism sector, with this partnership well timed to support these efforts as many Australians plan their next getaway.”

Available on all Avalon Waterways, Globus and Cosmos tours, advisors will now be able to help their clients earn points on a range of bucket list itineraries.
