Looking out for the environment is important to QBT, so-much-so, that the company has gone out and become the first Carbon Neutral travel management company in APAC.
Announced this week, QBT received a ‘Carbon Neutral’ status after working hard to reduce its carbon footprint and operate as an environmentally responsible organisastion.
How was this achieved?
According to the company, having its net greenhouse gas emissions equal zero required measuring carbon equivalent emissions and purchasing Carbon Offsets. These offsets are part of a reforestation project in the wheat belt of Western Australia, where over 90 perfect of the land has been cleared for agriculture.
QBT has also partnered with Carbon Neutral to provide carbon offsetting programs to its clients. These programs comprise both measurement of emissions and offsetting against a range of reforestation projects globally.QBT’s Group General Manager, Russell Carstensen said become Carbon Neutral is critical to the business’ environmental management system and goals to lead the industry to a greener future.
“QBT is committed to operating our business in an economically, environmentally and socially responsible manner.”
