Over 200 agents and their favourite suppliers have arrived in Singapore for Express Travel Group’s ETGX 2023.
Express Travel Group (ETG) invited its independent travel agency network, including Select Travel Group, Independent Travel Advisors, italktravel & cruise, and Alatus to the Lion City for what is already set to be the conference you needed to be at.
Most agents flew in from Australia yesterday, getting a taste of headline sponsor Singapore Airlines. ETGX 2023 proper commenced today, Friday 18 August. And the talk at breakfast was all about what the Helloworld buyout means for agents.
Karryon will be reporting live from the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay where its 575 rooms are mostly filled with ETG’s agents.
But here’s a bit of a hint about all that Helloworld talk:
“We are very confident about the future,” ETG CEO Tom Manwaring said.
“We think that we will double the size of the business.”
Tom reminded agents that their independence was assured, but the connection with Helloworld came at “the right time”, he said.
“When you come out of something like COVID you have to learn the lesson. Because size matters you know.”
