From 1 January 2020, Singapore Airlines will increase its Singapore-Melbourne-Wellington service from four times weekly, to five times weekly.

The additional SQ247/8 flight will operate on Wednesdays, leaving Singapore at 7.45pm to arrive in Melbourne at 5.10am the following day.

Singapore Airlines will then leave Melbourne at 6.50am and arrive in Wellington at 12.10pm (local time).

A return flight will depart Wellington at 1.30pm to arrive in Melbourne at 3.25pm. This will continue onto Singapore at 4.45pm to arrive at 10.40pm.

Unfortuantely, flyers will have to wait an additional year before they can check out the airline’s revamped Changi lounges.

Regional Vice President, Philip Goh, said demand for travel on the tri-route has been strong since launching in May last year.

Goh believes the additional service will also give travellers more options for holidays, especially at the start of the New Year.
