LATAM Airline increases its service frequency from Sydney via Auckland to Santiago, Chile from thrice-weekly flights to a daily service from tomorrow, making it the only carrier to operate daily flights between Australia and New Zealand and South America.

LATAM recommenced flights from Sydney to Santiago in March 2022 with three weekly flights after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sydney–Auckland–Santiago service is operated on the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Since restarting this service, LATAM has reported significant demand and has been working closely with Sydney Airport to increase the number of flights throughout the year.

LATAM Airlines Country Manager Oceania Chris Ellis said the carrier is excited to finally offer daily services from Sydney to Santiago.

“Santiago is the gateway to LATAM’s network of more than 120 destinations in Latin America and 144 destinations around the world. Working closely with the trade and key strategic partners, we have been able to achieve this milestone,” he said.

“We know there is huge interest in travelling to South America and we are happy to open the opportunity for more and more travellers to experience this part of the world.”

LATAM’s network is now back to its pre-pandemic operations, flying to 144 destinations in 22 countries. The airline also plans to add 36 new routes by 2023, including Brazil to Johannesburg, South Africa.

LATAM also implemented a joint venture with Delta Airlines in 2022 that allows passengers to access more than 300 destinations between the US, Canada and South America.
