Flight Centre TG rebrands Bali resort & considers hotel leases in Fiji

Bali's 4-star Camakila Legian resort will undergo an identity makeover to become the first Flight Centre Travel Group-managed property in Indonesia to operate under the 'Away' brand.

Bali’s 4-star Camakila Legian resort will undergo an identity makeover to become the first Flight Centre Travel Group-managed property in Indonesia to operate under the ‘Away’ brand.

Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FCTG) in-house hotel management company, BHMA, confirmed this week that the 117-room property will be renamed to Away Bali Legian Camakila.

The announcement comes less than a month after the BHMA signed a 10-year leasing agreement to manage the Bali-based resort, making it the company’s 22nd operating hotel.

Managing Director of FCTG’s hotel management company, Kent Davidson, said the agreement allows the business to expand the ‘Away’ brand outside of Thailand for the first time and “demonstate the effectiveness of the leasing model”.

“We stated at the start of our journey last year that we were targeting key beachfront locations in Phuket and Bali and we now operate in both of these destinations. While it is early days for us, I am delighted with our progress.”

Looking ahead, Davidson said the company will continune executing leases in locations where there’s strong consumer demand, including those around Asia Pacific, The Maldives, Japan and even, Fiji.

“We will continue to foster local partnerships and court strategic leasing opportunities,” he said.
