Hotel Review: Sheraton Mirage, Gold Coast

After a long and monotonous drive from North Queensland down to the Gold Coast with a toddler (flights cancelled, courtesy of ear infections from daycare) I was in desperate need of space and luxury!

After a long and monotonous drive from North Queensland down to the Gold Coast with a toddler (flights cancelled, courtesy of ear infections from daycare) I was in desperate need of space and luxury!

Luckily for me, blissful Images of sheer relaxation that come to mind when you hear the words Sheraton Mirage, Gold Coast, are only enhanced when you walk into reception.

The elegant use of color and space, create a fresh feeling of calmness when you cast your eyes through the foyer, over the lush lagoon and gardens and out to the cool blue ocean.

The unique absolute patrolled beach frontage, boasting impressive surf, endless white sand and lashings of natural sea grass, compliments the luxurious hotel finishes.

she372po-115016-Oasis PoolFollowing the extensive $26 million renovations of the resort and lagoons, the property’s iconic Oasis Pool and surrounds have just been fully refurbished, to the tune of $250,000 and it is simply exquisite.

In an impressive Green initiative, the refurbishment’s goal to improve the aesthetics of the pool and its surrounding areas also placed emphasis on reducing the pool’s energy and water consumption. A push that is in-line with Starwood’s objective to reduce energy and water usage – the “30/20 by 20” initiative has set a target of reducing energy use by 30% and water use by 20% by the year 2020.

Whilst the pool and natural winding timber boardwalks steal the show and your heart when residing in this special space, the iconic destination artwork in the long and majestic foyers are pretty cool too!

When travelling with a little toddler there are heaps of fun family activities around the Gold Coast to visit but in all honesty there isn’t really a need to leave the hotel. With the exquisite dining options, all boasting breathtaking views and child-friendly atmosphere I can truly recommend Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast to both singles, couples and families.
