Australia's Southern Ocean Lodge and New Zealand's Huka Lodge have excelled on the world stage, receiving global recognition in the Travel + Leisure’s 2018 World's Best Awards.

Australia’s Southern Ocean Lodge and New Zealand’s Huka Lodge have excelled on the world stage, receiving global recognition in the Travel + Leisure’s 2018 World’s Best Awards.

Taupo-based retreat, The Huka Lodge was recognised at the number 1 Resort Hotel in Australia & New Zealand and came in as Number 25 in the Top 100 Hotels Overall category.

Huka Lodge’s General Manager Kerry Molloy said the awards were a tremendous honour for their team.

Since it was founded in 1924, Huka Lodge has been consistently rated as a favourite destination for discerning travellers from every corner of the globe, making its way onto bucket lists and awards lists alike.

Its 25 guest suites include private cottages and an all-new series of unique experiences, including exclusive dining collaborations and never-before-launched ski packages.

Meanwhile, Kangaroo Island’s acclaimed Southern Ocean Lodge has been voted the best hotel in Australia in the Travel + Leisure magazine Top 100 Hotels List 2018.

The remote luxury lodge retained its leading position from the 2017 list, with a score this year of 95.58 out of a possible 100, giving it the highest ranking of any hotel in Australia and placing it 47th overall in the magazine’s list of the 100 World’s Best Hotels.
