SNEAK PEEK: Brisbane's swish new hotel and eatery

The relaxed river city of Brisbane is about to get a lot cooler. Not only is is the ultra-sexy W Hotel opening in the Queensland capital in June, but the 4.5 star Novotel Brisbane South Bank will welcome its first guests in just on month's time.

The 238-room hotel which debuts on May 14, sits on the southern banks of the Brisbane River surrounded by sleek city views.

Forget old school hotel restaurants; Novotel Brisbane South Bank is bringing fresh flavours to the table with its own restaurant, Spice Central.

Spice Central will dish up modern Australian cuisine with an influence from cultures all over the world.

You can expect an open dining experience with chefs on display in the open kitchen in the heart of the restaurant.

The hotel will also have meeting and conferencing space with banqueting facilities for up to 100 people, a gym and an outdoor heated swimming pool which some rooms will have direct access to.

The rooms themselves will feature all the mod cons travellers could need: from Smart TVs to wireless and USB docks.

Each room will also be home to a large print featuring a famous Brissy backdrop.

Coffee lovers will appreciate the in-room Nespresso machines while the Dyson hairdryers wont be taken for granted either.

Novotel Southbank will also feature a convenient ground floor pathway connecting the hotel to the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre.
