Intrepid Travel has landed a coveted spot on LinkedIn’s 2025 Top Companies List, ranking 12th in the Midsize Employer category—another nod to its growing reputation as a career-growth leader in travel and tourism.
The annual LinkedIn list highlights companies with fewer than 5,000 global staff that offer strong career development potential, based on eight factors including advancement opportunities, skills growth, company stability, and gender diversity.
For travel professionals, the recognition reinforces Intrepid’s status not only as a purpose-driven operator but also as an employer investing heavily in people—an increasingly valuable currency in today’s tight talent market.
Travel industry standout
Intrepid was listed alongside employers in manufacturing, tech and finance—including ASC Pty Ltd, SafetyCulture and Barrenjoey—underscoring how rare it is for a travel company to feature.
It also follows hot on the heels of Intrepid’s dual wins at this month’s 2025 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Awards, where it topped the Retail, Hospitality, Tourism & Entertainment category and was named best large organisation overall.
“LinkedIn is an iconic brand with huge influence in the world of work,” said Intrepid ANZ Managing Director Brett Mitchell.

“To be recognised on its annual list is a testament to Intrepid’s leading people experience globally.”
Career perks with purpose
Intrepid attributes the recognition to its focus on employee wellbeing, flexibility and values-driven culture. The company has introduced a string of people-first policies, including:
- Paid volunteering leave – 20 hours annually for office-based staff
- Flexible work guidelines – including 9-day fortnights and custom work hours
- Expanded family leave – covering travel companions and support for staff with young children
- DEI initiatives – led by internal advocacy groups and dedicated specialists
“We are committed to nurturing a work environment where everyone can thrive and grow their careers,” said Chief People and Purpose Officer Meegan Marshall.

Intrepid currently employs more than 3,000 staff, tour leaders and crew across 31 global offices. In 2024, it reported its highest employee satisfaction score (eNPS) of 64.
KARRYON UNPACKS: For travel advisors, LinkedIn’s nod strengthens Intrepid’s position as a reliable, people-first operator. In a post-pandemic talent crunch, that kind of stability makes for smoother, stronger partnerships.
