Intrepid Travel is investing in the next generation of tourism leaders through a new partnership with specialist training provider William Angliss Institute that will see the company offer scholarships, mentoring and excursion opportunities to students.
With both companies based in Melbourne, the collaboration between education and industry will benefit Angliss students with real-world expertise and exposure.
It also builds on previous collaborations, including guest lectures on sustainable travel.
To kick off the partnership, Angliss students visited Intrepid HQ to hear from the General Manager of Purpose about becoming a Certified B Corp, tour planning considerations and industry best practices.
Intrepid Travel’s General Manager of Purpose Sara King said: “We have over 30 years’ experience in responsible and sustainable tourism to share with students and look forward to seeing the positive contributions they will make to our industry in the future.”
William Angliss Institute Tourism Lecturer Belinda Daly said the partnership will open the door to amazing experiences for students.
Through the tourism education tie-in, Angliss tourism students will access new scholarship opportunities, mentoring sessions and industry collabs.
This includes a scholarship specifically supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, graduation awards and exclusive student discounts on select Intrepid Travel tours.
In other recent news, The Intrepid Foundation has pledged to donate $1 million to local communities and match public donations up to $1 million in 2024.
