Heading to Norfolk Island? Qantas will continue flying to the Australian territory for a minimum of three more years after securing a long-term deal with the Australian Government.
Operating until at least March 2026, Qantas will continue to run six return flights between the territory and the Aussie mainland including three flights each from Sydney and Brisbane.
NSW services will operate on Monday, Friday and Sunday, while Queensland flights will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Qantas took over the routes after Air New Zealand was forced to pull out of the service due to COVID restrictions.
Utilising its B737 aircraft, QF will offer 2,000 seats across both routes each week.
Flight times are 2.5 hours from Sydney and around two hours from Brisbane, with services departing from the international terminals in SYD and BNE.
“We’ve been operating flights from Norfolk Island to mainland Australia for the past two years and are pleased the local community has long-term certainty that these services will continue,” Qantas Domestic and International CEO Andrew David said.
“A reliable air service connecting passengers and freight between Norfolk Island with Sydney and Brisbane is critical for residents and businesses on the island.
“Norfolk Island is a unique destination and we’re looking forward to working with local stakeholders to help drive more visitors to the island.”
