If it’s true that ‘your focus determines your reality’ (- Qui-Gon Jinn), then there must’ve been A LOT of Star Wars fans focusing on relaxed flying rules for grenade-shaped collectables from Galaxy’s Edge.
Because that’s what happening! Aviation authorities in the US have reversed a decision to ban Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge drink bottles shaped like thermal detonators aka grenades from aircraft.
The decision comes less than a week after the Transport Security Administration (TSA) said that the exclusive Galaxy’s Edge California and Florida merchandise wouldn’t be permitted in carry-on or checked baggage.
TSA said the ban was introduced because the bottles resembled explosives and created potential security risks. However, the security agency has now decided that they can be packed into checked-in, not carry-on.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a TSA Spokesperson explained that following a review, security officers have been advised to treat the bottles as “oversized liquid” as they exceed the 100mm limit.
“TSA officers will maintain the discretion to prohibit any item through the screening checkpoint if they believe it poses a security threat.”
