The weekend is here, think it’ll be another sunny one? Before you slip into weekend mode let KarryOn entertain you with a wrap of the news stories that made headlines in travel this week.
Happy Birthday Expedia! The online giant this week celebrated a decade of operations in the Australian market with a special trade lunch.
KarryOn caught up with some of the head honchos, who told us about their journey in the local market and how they plan on building the business.
Among the changes trade can expect from Expedia over the coming weeks is the complete re-brand of Wotif.com.
In addition to a new logo, the company has also adopted the tagline ‘The home of holidays’.
With the Australia cruise wave season in full swing, P&O Cruises released some pretty amazing news this week – it’s expanding its fleet from five to six.
Carnival will transfer Dawn Princess out of the Princess fleet and to P&O where she will undergo a complete renovation and receive a new name.
With the addition of the sixth ship, P&O will have some 10,888 beds sailing out of Australia.
In aviation, United Airlines announced new services between Auckland and San Francisco to meet growing demand for travel between New Zealand and the USA.
The service will kick off from 3 July next year with three weekly services. Operations will increase to daily by 30 October 2016.
Ending the week on a high, Trafalgar, Brand USA, Flight Centre, United Airlines and Weber launched their biggest integrated marketing campaign – The Australia VS USA World BBQ Champion Cook Off 2015.
It essentially dares the country to put their cooking skills to the test and prove they’re Australia’s BBQ champion for a chance to win a trip to the USA.
