Malaysia Airlines has teamed up with MasterChef and best-selling author, Poh Ling Yeow to launch a new video series highlighting the best food spots in Kuala Lumpur.
Uploaded to Youtube, the series is one of five videos, with each running for over eight minutes.
In the fourth video [directly below] Poh tries several dishes around the city including breakfast dishes like Nasi Lemak – a coconut rice based dish flavoured with cucumbers, eggs and spices.
She takes viewers to Essence in the Sheraton Imperial, where she says has a variety of Malaysian dishes that showcase a blend Indian, Chinese and traditional Malay cuisines in one location.
“Malaysians are completely food obsessed. It’s a must for any foodie, in fact I consider it the food capital of Asia.”

During the video she also stops to chat to local chefs and even goes behind the scenes at Malaysia Airlines’ catering company Brahim’s where she demonstrates how airline’s award-winning food is prepared.
Did you know that in a single day staff at Brahim’s prepare around 26,000 satay skewers using around 200 litres of satay sauce.
We even see workers hand grilling satay sticks over the grill and fanning them the traditional way.
During the video she also Poh’s also takes viewers to their favourite shopping haunts and the thriving street market scene.
Poh said each episode of the series will cover a different part of the journey to bustling Kuala Lumpur – the city where she was born and raised for the first nine years of her life.

The video series comes in the wake of the recent launch of Poh’s sizzling new Signature Dish for Malaysia Airlines – a Nyonya Chicken Curry with a roti style croissant – which is available on Malaysia Airlines flights departing Australia until 28 February 2015.
