The Premium Entry experience for Virgin Australia flyers will reopen at Sydney Airport on Monday, 31 October 2022.
One of the perks of Virgin Australia Business Class or top-tier membership is the airline’s Premium Entry, which fast-tracks flyers through a dedicated security screening point. Now it’s back in Sydney.
“This is great news for our members and Business Class guests,” Virgin Australia told Karryon in an email.
Premium Entry will initially only open at peak travel times between 5am and 7am on weekdays.
The exclusive security experience is reserved for the carrier’s Business Class flyers, Velocity Frequent Flyer Beyond, Platinum, and Gold members, and reciprocal status members of partner airlines like Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways.
“When you arrive at Premium Entry you will be greeted by one of our team members who will check you into the Virgin Australia lounge and your flight at a private reception desk. You will then be expressed through a dedicated security screening point and into the lounge,” Virgin Australia’s website says.
The Premium Entry lanes are for guests travelling with carry-on baggage only. However, eligible passengers who wish to check bags can still do so via the priority check-in counter in the main departures hall. These guests can then enter the lounge through the Premium Entry outside or the general entrance next to the public security point.
With time “important for our most frequent flyers”, the carrier reiterated to Karryon that Premium Entry was “a ticket for loyal guests to quickly move through the screening process, so they can spend more time enjoying our lounge experience prior to their flight”.
Longer hours for BNE and MEL
Virgin’s Premium Entry at Brisbane Airport and a ‘Priority Screening Lane’ at Melbourne Airport reopened in August this year, operating from 5am to 10am on weekdays.
Earlier this week, Virgin Australia unveiled their ‘Bring on Wonderful’ campaign that includes a Middle Seat Lottery in which flyers can win prizes valued at over $230,000.
