Sydneysiders and other Aussies can look forward to more direct flights to Malaysia, with Batik Air announcing the launch of a new Sydney-Kuala Lumpur service, commencing later this year.
Kicking off on 7 December 2025, the new nonstop service – the first for Batik Air on this route – will operate three times per week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the Malaysian carrier confirmed to Karryon.
Batik Air will utilise its A330 aircraft on the new route (flight OD174, KUL-bound).

Elsewhere, the full-service carrier will grow its seasonal Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur flights to a year-round service from 13 July 2025. Batik flight OD176 (KUL-bound) will run four times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The carrier will also increase its current four-times-weekly Brisbane-Bali route (OD158) to a daily service during the busy school holiday period from 18 June to 14 July 2025.

Meanwhile, Batik Air has announced the resumption of its codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines.
Batik also flies to Perth, however it recently suspended its services to Canberra.
