Oh Canucks! Air Canada Brisbane-Vancouver flights back in the skies

Air Canada’s non-stop Brisbane–Vancouver Dreamliner flights resumed again on Sunday 3 July, operating four services per week for year-round connectivity to British Columbia and beyond, increasing to five weekly flights in December.

Air Canada’s non-stop Brisbane–Vancouver Dreamliner flights resumed again on Sunday 3 July, operating four services per week for year-round connectivity to British Columbia and beyond, increasing to five weekly flights in December.

It’s exciting news for Queensland travellers and comes just after Canada Day on 1 July.

Air Canada General Manager Australia and New Zealand Vic Naughton says the return of non-stop Brisbane to Vancouver services also offers Queenslanders the fastest route from Brisbane to New York and seamless connections to the airline’s extensive North American network.

“Vancouver International Airport exclusively offers Air Canada passengers the opportunity to continue to cities across Canada without rechecking baggage or passing through extra security checks,” Mr Naughton said.

“Passengers continuing to the United States also don’t need to collect and recheck bags in transit, unlike when transitting through US airports.

“That’s how Air Canada is able to once again able offer the fastest service between Brisbane and New York, as well as other US cities like Seattle.

“For Queensland travellers, it adds up to an unparalleled customer journey experience.”

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) reports that Canadian travellers are high-value tourists with trip lengths longer than the average international tourist, spending on average 14 nights across four destinations.

“Not only will these flights deliver 60,000 tourists to Queensland each year, but they’re also crucial to boosting trade between Queensland and Canada,” BAC CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said.

Canada’s flag carrier services more than 200 airports across six continents and now partners with Virgin Australia, allowing Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program members to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits and redeem on eligible flights with Air Canada between Australia and Vancouver and beyond.

The resumption of Air Canada‘s Brisbane-Vancouver services sees the airline provide the most seats between Australia and Canada with 10 flights each week also currently operating between Sydney and Vancouver.

Fully vaccinated travellers can enter and travel in Canada freely without proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
