LATAM Airlines scooped South America’s best airline accolade at recent prestigious awards, winning the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards for the Best Airline in South America and Best Airline Staff in South America.
Continuing its winning streak, LATAM has won Best Airline in South America for four years in a row and Best Airline Staff in South America for two consecutive years.
Skytrax World Airline Awards rankings result from a survey of more than 20 million passengers from 100-plus nations between September 2022 and May 2023.
LATAM Airlines Group Chief Customer Officer Paulo Miranda said: “We are very grateful to be recognised by our customers. We continually focus on improving our products and services and we are very proud to offer the best air travel experience in South America.”
These recent accolades follow LATAM’s Top Sustainable Airline for Inflight Services award at the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2023.
This achievement highlights the airline’s successful implementation of three innovative circular economy projects within its onboard service, including eliminating single-use plastics by the end of 2023 and achieving a zero-waste-to-landfill status by 2027.
LATAM is the only South American carrier to fly to Australia and will commence direct Santiago-Melbourne flights from 1 September 2023. The airline also flies from Sydney to Santiago via Auckland.
