Australian travellers now have more reason to explore Oman, following the launch of reciprocal frequent flyer accrual between Qantas Frequent Flyer and Oman Air’s Sindbad programme.
The new arrangement means Sindbad members can now earn Miles and Tier Credits when flying with Qantas, while Qantas members can collect Points and Status Credits across Oman Air’s growing network.
Oman Air’s Head of Partnerships and Alliances Rohan Patell said the announcement heralded “an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Qantas and for Oman Air’s presence in Australia”.

The new deal builds on an agreement introduced in October 2024, which gave both programmes’ members access to redemption benefits.
“Qantas Frequent Flyers already have access to tens of thousands of reward seats across the Oman Air network, and we’ve seen strong demand from members since launching our partnership last year,” Qantas Airline Loyalty Head Kate Sherwood said.
“Now, with the opportunity for members to earn Qantas Points and Status Credits, travel with Oman Air across Asia, Europe and the Middle East will be even more rewarding.”

In addition, the carriers say the strengthened partnership supports Oman’s tourism strategy, encouraging more Australians to consider visiting one of the Middle East’s safest and most welcoming destinations.
The Australian Government advises Aussies to “Exercise normal safety precautions in Oman overall”. The Gulf nation is one of only two countries in the Middle East at the lowest alert level.
“By building on our existing redemption arrangement, we are delivering even greater value and a truly seamless loyalty experience for our members, while making journeys to and beyond Muscat even more appealing,” Oman Air’s VP of Loyalty, Guest Experience and Brand Renata Rached stated.
Three months ago, Oman Air officially joined the oneworld alliance as its 15th member airline, expanding opportunities for passengers to earn and redeem rewards across multiple carriers.
