It was only after driving 100 kilometres that Walter realised he’d left something behind at a petrol station in Brazil – Claudia, his wife. And boy was she was furious by the time he came back to pick her up.
The couple were travelling with their teenage son in Brazil and were on their way back to Argentina when the incident occurred. Apparently, Walter failed to realise his wife was not in the car when he returned from a toilet stop at a petrol station in the Brazilian area of Passo Fundo.
So he drove off, clocking 100 kilometres on the odometer before realising he’d left something behind.
Ouch!

So where was Claudia exactly?
Although she’d been sleeping in the back of the car as the car pulled into the petrol station, the pit stop stirred her from her slumber and so she had gone into the shop to buy some snacks. But by the time she got back…well, you know what happens.
To make matters worse, bad phone reception meant that she couldn’t contact her husband, nor any of her family back home. Luckily, helpful staff at the petrol station called the police for her and she was taken to the local station until Walter arrived – two hours later.
“She was very angry. She was moaning at him for taking so long to realise… There was no physical assault, but she was more upset when she saw the husband.”

Suffice to say poor Walter won’t be making that mistake again…
