Amadeus builds its own 'cloud'

Travel tech provider Amadeus is building its very own cloud system in the hopes of providing the travel industry a single source to access content and travel tools while on-the-go.

Travel tech provider Amadeus is building its very own cloud system in the hopes of providing the travel industry a single source to access content and travel tools while on-the-go.

Currently in development with open source solutions company, Red Hat Inc., ‘Amadeus Cloud Services’ will act similarly to Apple’s ‘cloud’ system.

Users can send bookings, searches and emails to ‘the cloud’, where it will safely be stored away.

This frees up space on computers and mobiles and allows users to login and access information from any device.

Amadeus’ VP of Architecture, Quality and Governance said introducing a cloud system will also increase flexibility for customers who can ‘adapt to change easily’.

“Although we are still in the early stages of deployment, we have seen already that the flexibility of the OpenShift platform and the support we have received from Red Hat has allowed us to begin to take our application to the next level and expand it to a wider customer base.”

Once closer to completion, Amadeus plans to gradually roll out the service to travel industry customers.

This is the latest technological advancement over at Amadeus this year and follows last month’s official launch of the ‘Amadeus Selling Platform Connect‘.
