As KarryOn celebrates it’s second birthday, Founder Matt Leedham shares his thoughts on another year as the publication that is ‘the voice of the travel industry’.

This time last year we were just twelve months into our new life and I joked that it was time to get out of the crib and start crawling.

Well thanks to you, our KarryOn community we’ve certainly done that! In fact I’d say we’re almost running now.

Year two for KarryOn has been a jam-packed, fun one and all about innovation. From revamping the website and e-newsletter to a new identity, new office, new team members, new ways we work, lessons learned and lots of new travel trade partners we’ve worked with to help them grow their brands and businesses.

We’ve travelled far and wide with many of you, played an active part in so many travel events locally and internationally including our own facetime and Women in Tourism initiatives and loved meeting so many industry people old and new on the journey.

Back in April we even pulled off our KarryOn is moving to Fiji’ April fool idea that amazingly still has people talking. We’ve been so overwhelmed with the feedback on what was a bit of fun we’re actually now going to do it! Watch this space.

So many of you have contributed your own stories, insights and opinions, sent us your photos of your travels and events and given us valuable feedback from surveys and Social Media comments. All key factors that have helped us make KarryOn a better experience for you and the wider travel community.

It’s all thanks to you that in May we hit #1 in the Amazon owned Alexa Rankings for visitors to karryonredev.wpengine.com – an incredible result and one we’re so proud of and thankful for as a team given our short life as a publication.

It’s clear to us you want to have your say as your own ‘voice of the travel industry’ and are enjoying engaging with us and being part of something innovative, entertaining and useful for everyone.

Our aim is to only make KarryOn better still for everyone as we move into year three. We’ve got a number of new initiatives in the pipeline coming very soon so keep a look out!

So on behalf of all the team at KarryOn, thank you so much for all of your support over the last two years and for wanting to be part of something a little bit different.

Please KarryOn reading and spreading the word… we love your work!

What’s been the highlight on KarryOn for you over the last two years?
