Virgin Australia & Amadeus expand partnership to include integrated NDC access for agents

Virgin Australia has upped its multi-year association with Amadeus, which means travel advisors connected to the travel tech provider platform will have access to Virgin Australia’s travel agency content, including flight schedules, fares, seat maps and ancillaries, through EDIFACT and, in the future, NDC channels.

The Virgin Australia content and latest airline inventory will be fully integrated into travel advisors’ preferred booking environments to drive sales and revenue opportunities.

These include the Selling Platform Connect, Travel API or the Cytric Easy self-booking tool for corporations.

The expanded partnership will also see Virgin Australia collaborate with Amadeus across IT solutions for airlines and airports as well as loyalty and distribution.

As of late last year, VA currently uses Sabre’s NDC IT capabilities, together with its Global Distribution System (GDS), to both create and distribute innovative offers and rich, customised NDC content.
