See The Ancient Pyramids... The Ones in Sudan, Not Egypt

'Roads less taken' would be a complete understatement when describing Peregrine Adventures' newest itineraries, which include the Ancient Pyramids... not the ones in Egypt, the ones in Sudan.

‘Roads less taken’ would be a complete understatement when describing Peregrine Adventures‘ newest itineraries, which include the Ancient Pyramids… not the ones in Egypt, the ones in Sudan.

The adventure company announced that it will be heading to the historically rich country of Sudan in 2020, with an eight-day itinerary called ‘Ancient Sudan Experience’.

As part of the trip, guests will be exposed to a history that dates back as far as that in Egypt, and sites that are equally as astounding as those created by the Incans.

For example, the itinerary includes visits to Sudan’s ancient archaeological sites such as the Nubian pyramids and tombs. There’ll also be a journey to the 3,000-year-old temple of Jebel Barkal.

Local museums will also be featured in the mix, along with opportunities to experience modern Sudan’s souks and chai houses.

In explaining the decision to include Sudan in the 2020 line-up, Brett Mitchell of Peregrine Adventures said it fit the brand’s focus on “sustainable, experience-rich travel”.

“[We’re] taking Australians on more adventures of a lifetime.”

Come 2020, and Peregrine Adventures will also make its first foray to the coast of Borneo with a small ship itinerary called ‘Borneo Coastal Cruising’.

Travellers will be able to spot wildlife during their trip through the Southeast Asian destination, which features calls to smaller, less-visited ports.

Peregrine Adventures’ 2020 program includes 12 new itineraries, such as a new seven-day trip through St Petersburg and the Siege of Leningrad, a 12-day foodie tour of Turkey, a 13-day discover of North and South Cyprus, and more.
