Flight Centre hooks up with Ninemsn for a new travel website

A virtual travel agent, a new entertainment company and NOW a new travel website - Flight Centre just doesn't slow down.

A virtual travel agent, a new entertainment company and NOW a new travel website – Flight Centre just doesn’t slow down.

The travel group has teamed up with Ninemsn to launch Ninemsn Elsewhere, a consumer site that promises to “reflect the way Australians like to travel now”, mUmBRELLA reported.

Unveiled yesterday, the website features content for 55 cities covering places to eat, stay, insider tips and more.

Content was written by regular contributors who live in the heart of each destination as a means of ensuring each city guide features ‘superior content’.

Flight Centre General Manager, Darren Wright, said the website presents an opportunity for the travel group to offer travel deals to an “engaged audience through our integrated presence”. This means users will not only be able to search for content via the site but also book their holiday.

“Our partnership speaks to our continued strategy of seeking new opportunities to reach a relevant audience and support our travel industry partners through an innovative involvement with Australia’s newest travel website.”

The website is being edited by Ninemsn’s Amy Nelmes who describes it as a reflection of the “way travel is changing”.

“We live a fast-paced life, with the world at our fingertips through social media,” she said.

“Elsewhere’s focus is cities, as many of us will pass through one each time we take a trip, and we are launching with almost 60, with a local contributor in each one.”
